Our Mission in the Virtual World Business Bureau is to promote and encourage a very high ethical relationship between Virtual World businesses and the Virtual World Community through voluntary self-regulation, education, and excellence in service.
Brief introduction on the VWBB
The VWBB was started in February 2007 as the Second Life Business Bureau (SLBB). In November of 2007 the name was changed to Virtual World Business Bureau (VWBB).
We have been contacting many business’ throughout Second Life trying to get some support for our efforts to get an in game handle on the poor ethics that seems to be growing quite rapidly within Second Life.
We have noticed that along with the population growth, the unethical business practice have become rampant, but there has been no place to go to report this, except to Linden Lab and we understand that Linden Lab does not get involved in private matters between avatars.
The VWBB to date has recovered 209K Lindens , approximately 900 usd. We have formed the Virtual World Business Bureau in the belief that we can institute a system in game that will deter unethical business behaviors.
Our goal is to improve the game experience by creating a more stable and secure business community.
